Born in 1982 in the west of Scotland, Eilidh has been in and around folk clubs all her life. Although Eilidh performed in dramatic plays and musicals at a young age she did not recognise her talent for singing folk music until 2002. It was then Eilidh decided that this was the route she would love to take and is now recognised as one of the most up and coming young vocalists in Scotland. Eilidh has just finished working on her debut CD “Masks and Smiles”.
Eilidh’s stunning voice beautifully renders both classic folk songs and original material. With a love for traditional and contemporary folk alike, underpinned by a passion for Burns, Eilidh has made a considerable impression on the Scottish and Irish folk scene. Her vocal style, with shades of a Caledonian Joni Mitchell, won her the Danny Kyle Award at the 2004 Celtic Connections festival. Since then she has performed at a number of folk clubs and festivals throughout Scotland and Ireland. Her first gig was at the Star Folk Club in Glasgow and since then has grown from strength to strength, the highlights being performing at Celtic Connections 4 years in a row and supporting Ralph Mctell at the Linlithgow Folk Festival.
Eilidh has already performed with some great musicians, such as Angus Lyon, Ruaridh Campbell and Steve Lawrence and has now settled into a fantastic line up of Pete Cooke on Guitar and Maya Burman–Roy on Cello. Her unique voice and dedication to both traditional and contemporary music shows in her ability to draw on her influences and add in her own style resulting in an outstanding and beautiful performance. Eilidh’s love of folk music is apparent from the first note to the last.
Pauline has been playing the flute for more years that she cares to remember. She has been playing in various classical groups for years and also in the good time ceilidh band 'The Roaring Mary'. She enjoys playing a variety of different styles and cites as influences whatever session she was last at. In her other life, she spreads health messages round schools.
